HMMM i wonder if we re getting APUs

Really? Just on the website huh?

 

It's been on there since they re-did their website last summer. Not happening anytime soon.

 

APU's aren't all they are cracked up to be.

The company I work for (Market Transport) had them on a lot of their trucks and they broke down a lot!

None of the new trucks they are bringing in have them, they just weren't cost effective.

My 2011 Freightliner Cascadia has a fuel burning bunk heater and a Mochila evaporative cooling system. The Mochila unit works fine at about 85 degrees (ambient) or less. My truck is clean air idle anyways, so, I just idle most of the time anyways, we have no punitive idling restrictions.

 

ok, here's the jist on APUs, May doesn't have them for 2 reasons, the heavy loads May loves so much (not all states exempt the weight yet) and getting them requires holes in the frame and May returns trucks in same condition received from manufacturer.
