Maybe someone can answer the questions regarding the consistency of weekly miles and the lease maintenance fund.

1st. I've seen videos on youtube of settlement statements from new drivers and they always start, "I've only been driving for a few weeks and here is my weekly pay." Of course this before taxes are paid. But 2 to 6 to 12 months later are you still seeing the same kind of weekly pay? Are you getting 3000 miles per week every week? And what if you turn down loads to take a few days off, do they black list you and give you less miles?

2nd. $.11 per mile is deducted and put into a maintenance account until you reach $10,000. If you have to buy new tires or have a major repair; obliviously the balance in the maintenance account will go down to pay for the repairs and then you have to replenish the account, so you will always be getting the $.11 deducted.

3rd the amount of money that is deducted for insurance is that amount the same as if you were to buy your own insurance or does KLLM mark it up to make a few extra bucks?

Finally, aren't the trucks at KLLM fairly new or brand new, shouldn't they come with some sort of factory or dealer warranty that would cover the repairs during the first year or up to a certain amount of miles? Or can you purchase an extended warranty from Factory/Dealer?

.88 Cents per mile.............. Why do people keep signing on for this amount ? I don't get it it's like people want to intentionally get screwed.

The lease deal benifits the company. A few days off can put you in the hole, not to mention if truck has to go in the shop for a week. I leased for two years and it was with great relief when i went to company driver.

Remember that any lease is a business first and foremost. You must think of yourself first as being a small businessman who happens to drive, not as a driver who leases a truck. You need to understand the business end; knowing how to drive a truck is irrelevant to your success or failure.

Many fail and many don't. Do your own research; run your own numbers. Get help from reputable sources to fill in your business-related gaps. Depending on the expertise on a public forum can be risky, though it can lead you to some important questions. You might look for the posts here on TTR by Ironpony. He's been a company driver, lease operator, and owner operator. He knows what he's talking about and his information is solid.

If you're new to trucking, a lease is probably not a good idea because you don't understand this fickle business enough. Understand and be able to explain why you want to go into business for yourself.

Don't fall for the YouTube heroes most looking for referral driver pay and the companies keep them well feed to pull you in (sucker). Every driver's situation is different like your fingerprints.

If you want to lease and actually make some kind of money then CRST Malone or expeditede is the only lease I see out here that makes since, you get 70% of the load not milage pay like everyone else, the only catch is that its team carrier,so must have a co driver or be willing to train new drivers...

There are quite a few percentage carriers you can lease on with. I think most, if not all of the Roadrunner Companies are percentage pay. If you dont mind living in the slow lane, Prime and Jim Palmer are both percentage pay leases.
