companies are short *good drivers...

 

Holland is desperate because their pay package isn't what it used to be. They used to be among the very best, but since YRC bought them drivers have had to give up a lot it subsequent union contracts.

They still make a ton more than most OTR drivers, and they will work you. They have more freight than they can handle.

I've even seen Holland ads on electronic billboards near my terminal as well as in truck stop fuel islands.

In 2014 Mains Food and Paper, C.L. Logan of Canton, Ohio, Sysco Cleveland and USF Holland, Akron all had radio ads on 98.5 WNCX looking for drivers.

 

we've been needing 3 guys on linehaul for months. the hiring criteria is pretty steep, i think that is the biggest hurdle. however, i can't remember the last person at my terminal who did anything more than bump a trailer.

 

Can't help ya brother. I care for my Dad. He is a dialysis patient amongst other things. Not sure he'd survive the move some place. It's why I drive local. I loved the road, but what can ya do?
