Im recently getting back into trucking after taking the winter off and i applied to holland enterprises after hearing they have a crazy long average load length which i love.

They offered me .52cpm because i have a backing incident with marten(which was really a non issue i shouldnt have even reported it since no damage happened).

My question is, in todays climate and with Hollands good reputation, is .52cpm worth it? Ive heared its not hard to get 3300 miles plus with them. Marten offered me .62cpm OTR but the recruiter said average load length is 500 miles.

I have 21months OTR experience, 0 tickets and interactions with the law, clean MVR(besides the backing) and ive been with 3 companies so far(i know its alot).

If you can get accepted by Holland -- go ahead & take it.

I've seen Frey Miller offer 50 cents per mile of late....:sad3:

Ok note taken, i have until tomorrow to decide. Are they really that prestigious and hard to get into? I know the general sentiment around them is pretty good. I am very strongly considering them.

Just another outfit in the transportation industry. What’s your location?

The issue is the backing incident is going to hold you back until it clears off of where ever it is on your driving records.

ok. I would take it over Marten 100%. Have you looked into where Marten put it on your record? MVR, PSP, Hire right background?

Holland starts out at .52-.55 a mile depending on experience. So I guess they didn’t give you such a hard time with the backing accident. Then after 6 months they give reviews and depending on your review you might or might not get a raise.

honestly if it was me I’d be looking at all options and different types of driving positions. Try old dominion or something. Fresno must have a ton of different options for employment. #### holland enterprises they emailed me a few times I said bzzzzt

Yeah i checked around fresno and its almost all regional and local work. I got into trucking because i love OTR and especially long runs. Ill try out Holland and see how it goes. Theyre equipment sounds really nice and the big selling point is their crazy long average load miles.

Ill ask my recruiter tomorrow what the backing incident was reported on. Just curious, why does it matter what it was reported on?

Someone on here sometime ago said Holland has long runs, but I think I would go Marten. You're just as capable of getting 3000 plus miles with Marten and it's probably a lot more drop and hook with them. They've got customers everywhere. Remember, 3000 miles doesn't have to come from solely long hauls.
