How's the insurance? I have 3 kids that I carry on it and 200 a week at my current company is killing me. I really like Holland equipment. I know someone mentioned Crete. Yea they offered me a gig to at .46 to .49cpm but shoot, a bare bones truck, I'd like to do something if I'm sitting. To me pay isn't everything. All help is appreciated

no.. I'm not. But I Worked for Shaffer many years ago. Didn't like the feel. My statement was personal to me.Not meant as a attack at any drivers. But as my personal feelings towards the company.

Over a month out, don't know how you guys do it. How much does one make doing that? I know I like to be home every night and sleep in my own bed, shower and laundry at home. I like driving but having a wife and kids that lifestyle choice ain't for me. I make a decent buck driving dump truck.

Different strokes for different folks. We all have different situations and things that "drive us". I made good money to at one time [when married] driving end dump north of DFW area. But have no desire or need to go back to that crap ... can't breathe.

Some drivers love the road life. They can save tons of money living right out of the truck. It’s a win win for everyone. The company loves it because the driver is constantly there with that truck. The driver loves it because of all the money he’s saving in rent, utilities, cable and other amenities. The driver eats, sleeps and breathes trucking. Month after month after month after month. Then when he needs to come up for air for awhile, he can pick the place he wants to go and spend time with whomever wherever. He’ll take a week off and lord have mercy his pockets are definitely not empty. So he’s doing fine.
it’s a lifestyle. Some folks need to be home every night, some need to be at the house every weekend and then there are those who just stay out. Everyone has their own taste when it comes to this trucking life. That’s the beauty of it... there’s a flavor for every kind of driver. You just gotta know what works for you
