I had an interview with Holland for a dock to driver position. I don't think it went very well because towards the end of the interview he told me that he'd have to see how many positions they have open. I'm just assuming he knows how many positions are open and is just gonna choose someone else. I don't have any experience really but it is for a position in which I'll be trained after so many days on the dock. Has anyone else had an interview like this with Holland but still got on?

When I got hired, the guy pretty much of freer me the job on the phone without meeting in person for an extensive interview. When I finally met him he directed me to the clinic for the drug test and I just waited for the call...

Once I got the call, I started driving straight truck for a few months, when another guy got hired I requested a tractor trailer and I got promoted.

Every interviewer has his/her own way of doing things. Stay positive, follow up in a few days w a call. Show you are interested. If possible go back to the terminal and talk to the guy in person.

    Good luck, driver !

You're right. I know I'm being a little impatient. I think it would be a good opportunity for me. Everyone seemed nice. Thanks for your help!

If that's the job you want , go for it. Make that guy change his mind if you suspect he may be thinking of giving the position to someone else. Tell the guy you are willing to do whatever it takes to land that position and that he won't regret hiring YOU !

Yeah, I'll definitely stay in touch with him. I even mentioned I'll work the dock everyday just to show I'm not just a driver lol. I just want something that will be stable and will offer benefits. I know LTL has slow periods but I think I can handle it.
