    Hey all,

I have about a year of experience driving. About 7 months with Maverick pulling a flatbed and then I got a local job pulling a tanker for a hydroseeding company. Well I broke my ankle at the local job and I am recovering but since its on workmans comp, I am going to assume the worst and figure they will find a reason to let me go. Injury was not from driving and there was no damage. I rolled it doing some physical labor the job required. Freak accident but I wasn't doing anything out of procedure.

In any event, I may have to go back OTR. I have a clean 7 Year MVR, current physical and TWIC. I absolutely loved working for Maverick. The only thing negative about them is that since I am on the edge of their hiring zone, I only got home every other weekend.

Does anyone know of any companies from small to mega carriers, that would make it possible for me to be home every weekend? I have a wife and 2 kids so finding a job where I would be home every weekend would be ideal of I had to go back OTR. Flatbed, Van, TCD, Doesnt matter to me. Just curious.

If there really aren't any companies that do that, I will go back to Maverick because I enjoyed working for them. Just wanted to explore options first. Thanks!

I don't think you have anything to worry about with your current job. Nobody will fire you for that. I have been injured on the job before and returned afterwards with no problem. In fact, I am recovering from surgery now and will return to work this week. My truck is still parked at the yard with all my gear in it waiting for me.

If you really want something else you may try conway. Home daily and weekends.. it's ltl and you will be working the dock a lot but you will get the hometime. Averritt would be another. They would get you home weekly... Big G...also

Try Averitt Express. They have a terminal just north of Atlanta. They have local, dedicated and OTR. They also have a terminal in Chattanooga, which may be a little closer to you since youre in Blue Ridge. Their North Atlanta Terminal is on I85. I agree with the other hand, don't think theyd fire you just for filing a workers comp claim?

Check out Big G Express. I live in Chatt and they get me home every weekend. It's a great company too. They really do look out for their drivers. I've been here for a year and a half and I'm not going anywhere.

Try Shaw. They are in Dalton and I've heard they have decent hometime.

    Weekends home:

    Jordan Carriers
    Builders Transportation Co.
    McElroy

Probably make more money with an LTL outfit such as Old Dominion, Saia, Southeastern, Estes, etc.

Don't know if they have any openings or not but Navajo Express has a home every day route doing an Atlanta/Jackson,TN turn daily.

Cardinal Logistics has some accounts that get you home daily or weekends. The openings show on their website.
