I put in a Rockford Fosgate powered box just for the ease of installation. Way better than what I expected.
Fits like a glove.

I prefer pioneer myself. Being a deaf man I need a little extra.
As far as big trucks.. well... Ive had no trouble with the then new systems that were factory installed in my time. And sometimes the sleeper had it's own set of 4 speakers and controls. Set up just so with a bit of power on them made for some enjoyable music.
You all will tease me, but I used a older logitech type sub center for a while. Inverter had no trouble driving it. It's relatively basic leaning towards computer gaming and certain types of music online.
Never mind my little truck, the entire music system was hashed by the previous owner using it as a boom box back then. At some point I'll have the stereo shop toss in a 4 speaker and music box into that thing in the future. But nothing too wild.
I still have a old style solid state amfm, record player and cassette system capable of driving a set of 4 analog large speakers of about 14 inches on the bottom each back home. Ive arranged to have it transported to Arkansas in the future. But it dates to the mid to late 70's and I am not wholly certain if it will accept digitial source input through the 1/4 inch. But it certainly has the power and has been kept at 70F and 65% since the 80's so no worries there.joseph1853 Thanks this. -
@nax Ok, was a small project moving the sub woofer box to get to the amps but here are the pix requested.
The components are JL audio in the sleeper, the front has JL audio tweeters and Polk for mids.Last edited: Apr 11, 2018

WHOOOOOAAAAA!!!!!@Diesel Dave
That dial equalizer just sealed it for me. You don't see that on every day Joe schmoes.
I ain't seen that in a looooooong time. I will say no more...
joseph1853, Cottonmouth85 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
I could use a equalizer with a little more increments, but that one would be a monster for power.
It's a long way since the old 8 tracks for cars.joseph1853 and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -
Glad to see custom audio is alive and well.

A few of the neighbors tried to compete with the old tornado federal siren locally that was refurbished recently. After the modern electronic replacement got fried by lightning of all things. Let's say the Federal won handy. That deep bass drowned everything. (Wonderful tone for tornado for our area. We still have a few of them around. But the electronics are getting too annoying with voice capability of all things. ugh.
The loudest anything for tone and power has to be the old 50's era Hemi Engine Driven Sirens for cold war nuclear attack. To get a idea of it's power flat out was to see morning fog burned off over 6 miles and still hear it at 20+ miles.joseph1853 Thanks this. -
