Couple big truck stops in Georgetown

Why do drivers suggest that another driver abandon their truck and trailer @ a truck stop for home time. Have some consideration towards your fellow truck driver who needs a parking spot to remain safe.cowboy_tech, ShootThis, Zen Trucker and 4 others Thank this.

Like the first J or Pilot south of Indianapolis. I bet on any day there are 10-12 truck spots taken up by cars because guys are saving themself a spot because "They dont have a place to park a truck".

My bad, homie. I forgot everyone had 5 plus acres with ability to drop a 53 foot trailer. Sorry bout that. Won't let it happen again.

That is bs. I don't like those guys. But parking your rig at a truck stop is fine if you have nowhere else to park it. -
call your local police dept or city zoning, they helped me find a spot.you will find ALOT of so called drivers who have nothing good to say about anything.be safe out there

Spend some money at a storage lot. Safe, secure, and could be tax deductible.

It just so happens this is exactly what I do when I go home. HOWEVER - that same truck stop is where I get all my oil changes/grease and repairs done, and I buy as much fuel from there as I can. If I spent nothing there, they told me I would have to pay. It is working out well.
If you owned the truck stop, would you welcome people to come in and park there and go home? Now there is NO chance they will come in and buy anything from your store or restaurant. You are occupying a space where someone who could be using that spot who has run out of hours while you are at home in your bed. Now, if you had an agreement with the truck stop and you paid them some money to park it there while you go home, that is different. I think anyone who does this should be towed away.
Hopefully you can see the other side of the coin on this one. -
Look in the yellow pages for RV storage lots. I found one a few miles from my home, was $30 for a weeks secure parking, and the company paid me back every time. Just be sure to call ahead and make sure a semi and trailer are OK.
