I understand the Home time Policy. How hard is getting your home time as a company driver

When I ran company side I never had a problem. Only late by one day, one time... the freight just wouldn't cooperate that week.

How hard is it to get home time during that 4-6 months with a trainer?

I honestly can't answer this. JCW came home right after his 40K ticker turned over, then got told he was upgrading in Pittston. (He was NOT PSD, and there for had to go out 40k.) I dropped him off July 19. He came home Sept 29, and back out on Oct. 5 (available for dispatch before that). He'll be home at Thanksgiving.

He's hoping for a drive by on the 11th, but we know that might not happen.

it all depends on freight and your fleet manager knowing that you have to change your license over to your home state its basically up to you after i got my license i told my fm i was ready for home time and he started working us that way ive only been home once since the end of july but thats my choice

Give them a good amount of notice and they'll get you home. Though sometimes you got to nudge them a bit to let them know.

Well I hope the trainer I get lives nearby me, hopefully it wont be a problem. Believe me I plan on being out a lot, at least 3-4weeks at a time. Im not sure what kind of notice to give because there isnt an exact date I need to be home or anything and I dont want to inconvienence my trainer. I just was re reading my confirmation letter and their website and noticed the part about being out 4-6 months with a trainer with no mention of any home time in there. My 7 year old would freak if she couldnt see her Dad for 4-6 months.

Your best bet is to not ask for much time during the TNT phase. But you are entitled to it. My FM said to let him know then remind him one week out. I chose to just ask for a load near my house with enough time I could pull a 34 for my daughter's bday.

I do know this that now that I am chosing to stay on trainers truck an extra month I am taking a full 3 days asap after upgrade.

Thanks for the info! Why did you chose to stay on the trainers truck an extra month?
