exactly what was it that needed to be done at dmv ? What if you didn’t have any other I’d from another state ? Assuming you were just making a change of address correct

 

I changed my license over to south dakota as well. For the current id requirements you would want to check with the state of South Dakota. Its been a few years since i made the change and i dont remember the exact requirements. It was pretty painless though.

As usual Chinatown gives some great info. I would suggest a couple of additional steps. Make sure that whatever mail service you use that you do not get what is common called a PO box, those are not considered a domicile address. You need to get an address that is an actual street address and then something like suite or unit. Once you have that get some mail set to the address. Signup for a library card, voter registration, local store cards, etc. Things that a normal person would have where they live. Open a credit union account that has a super low savings account minimum. This will all help establish your new address as a domicile address.
