Like the filters like the K&N and the Fleet Air Filter are less restrictive on the intake, adding a Y and another muffler will be less restrictive on the exhaust side with less back pressure and especially with a muffler like the Walker Megaflow Muffler on both exhaust outlets. You did not say if you still had a stock OEM muffler or what on your single exhaust stack?

Before you replace it, check out the Walker Megaflow muffler that should give you around 3/10ths better mpg over stock OEM, it is very common at most part houses for around $120 each and has a 4 year warranty against rust because it is galvanized dipped.

and for exhaust im just going to go with either 7" or 8" donkey or flat top on my truck just the straight pipes that reduce to 5" then adding a small muffler which is about 26" or so long under the pass side cab on top of tank to quiet her down a bit, i wish i could get my hands on a set of old school freightliner battery side boxes not the newer ones the older smaller ones then i would move tanks back and run 8" from the bottom

That's what I was considering buying. I'm thinking that muffler and the K&N filter would help my truck out a good bit.

If you currently have two air breathers outside of the truck you are wasting your money. You will not increase air flow and will decrease your ability to filter out the fine stuff that will sandblast the finns of your turbo away. I have twins on my truck and run these so called junk air starving donaldson filters. I have an in dash restriction gauge that never moves. And yes it works, I check it from time to time. It takes nothing to make that needle jump. On a hard pull I'm pulling down 62 psi of boost, and the restriction gauge shows no restriction.

Wow... you're looking a little wore out in that avatar...haha. 62psi of boost? I wish I had a boost gauge in my truck. My truck has the Donaldson box under the hood (Sterling) so I don't have dual outside breathers.
