The coffee at small no name truckstops suck , it all tastes like a dirty dishrag, but they usually don't charge for it.
I parked at the Loves in Gustine, CA last night, right next to a great restraunt, they're world famous for their pea soup, I always try it when I stay there, tastes like ground up peas.
And good cheap food entrees too.

There's reason why the old term for truck stop diner was "choke-and-puke".

Sounds like it's even more accurate now...

The Best thing I bought recently at the truck stop is "The Lunch Box Oven". That thing is the cats ***! I have gone from eating fast food from rest areas and truck stops to eating salmon, cod, turkey, chicken, whatever, all with fresh veggies, rice or potatoes etc. You can get the tins that go inside the oven from the dollar store or Walmart. Prepare your meals at home, in each tin. Then pack your cooler and head out down the road. when you get hungry, plug it in the lighter, and 30 to 50 minutes later (depending if your cooking or reheating) its time to eat. I like to put a small amount of water in the bottom before I place the tin inside. Its an easy clean up, trash the tin and wipe the oven out. Honestly its worth the $34.00 I paid for it.

I read a recent study somewhere that says 75% of those who ever drank a glass of tap water from a sink faucet, dies within 75 years, and 25% die within 110 years.

Moral of the story is ... if it feels good or tastes good, consume it. You're going to die, regardless, so, may as well die happy.

There is or was a small truck stop in Brooklyn, Indiana I believe that has good food. Only went there once about 4 years ago, but it was memorable. I would go back.
