[FONT="]Hi, I have the Nav 430 and would like to add it to my APRS. the aprs works with my Ham Radio and sends a signal to my google map. presently I use another GPS but would like to be able to use the 430 for the GPS so I could have the visable screen, the Argent Tracker 2 book said it would work with any GPS that had Nema data. it had a Db-9 plug that the gps will plug into. anyone have any info on how to do this?
Thanks

The GPS must have both serial output and it must be NEMA. Very few anymore do. Anything that is set up with a USB output won't work, unless you use a converter, and that will require putting a computer between the GPS and the radio.

does your later model gps show the google map with the aprs track or just as a gps by itself with its own display?

Just the track of the GPS...I can hook up my laptop to the D 700 and run APRS program and can see the APRS track on the laptop...

I still have my Garmin CS76 for that ( when I get a new radio). I don't think there is any provision for porting NEMA data out of any of these PCmilers or anyother self-contained unit. Fortantly, Garmin still makes units with built in data porting.
