Actually this accident could not have happened with the 26 rule.
The 23 year old would not have been driving a semi anywhere in the US.
And it’s very unlikely an older driver would have caused an identical accident.

So that's really close to my original count of 90 or so. I am not capable of more precision without a stopwatch fast enough for click on off that quickly in the first video.

What that kid did not say was he lost the brakes 3 ridges back and 12 or so miles ago.

Even so where in hell was the spring brakes? I don't think this kid had the balls to drain the air enough to trip the big scary red light and low air alarm or something. Something isnt right with that one.

Im not here to be troll or difficult but I tend to latch onto a problem and not let go.

How old was the guy in PA that hit the bus?
Sure not identical, but close enough to show the falliacy in the statement that there is a difference between a 23 and 26 year old.
Basically both lost their brakes on a hill and killed people because of it.

I'm imagining my loved ones sitting in traffic and then an 80k truck slams into them at 85 mph. I'm not gonna lie, I will sue everyone. Everyone involved with this guy driving on public roads will get served.

I pretty much quit after about 28. But eh in some ways Im still a big kid. It's just not becoming to see a mid 50's into a game or whatnot.

Right, you won't have 23 year olds doing this, they'll 26 year olds doing this. That's like saying if the law to get a regular car license was 18 we wouldn't have 16 year olds getting in car accidents. You'll have 26 year olds with the maturity level of today's 23 year olds, moving half your money from one pocket to another doesn't increase your total and that's all you would be doing.

My parents essentially said no or stonewalled any chance of a license at 16 through 19. The state finally told them that class is mandated and he will get his drivers license. Stand aside. (Driving class in school)

The fireworks did not happen until at 21 I said I'll get to trucking. Half the family (Hundreds in those days) did not like the idea of a deafie rolling around in a semi so it was a big deal. Deaf truckers were exempted construction and with hearing aids interstate not too long before my decision to get going on that.

What a year that was. Leading to many more what a year that was. And a few what a wasted time that was. lol.

Brake fade is mainly because the drums expand as temperature increases, when that happens, the spring brakes are trying to use the same failed system with decreased friction trying to stop things. Glazing and burning the material off of the shoes doesn't help, either. I have a great sense of smell, even now, and I can smell brakes a long time before there is any smoke or fire.

On another topic, the tractor was a Century with LED headlight upgrade/retrofit, of which I'm seeing many, Columbia used the headlight housing from a Mercedes sedan, iirc. Harder to retrofit, but it is done, as well.
