Bingo. The biggest group associated with paying Congress to get the ELD mandate passed was quoted saying they needed to have it done to "level the playing field" in terms of competition. Ironic, they get rich off putting the general public at risk while simultaneously paying for laws to stifle their competition. So much for the free market and "safety". The indy is no more a threat to the megas as they are to us. We all have our own sets of unique services to offer the transportation industry. It's a big pie but to some greed has no limits.

 

I guess if you could eliminate about half the population in some areas that would fly, but it's way to peopley around this neck of the woods to get much accomplished during the daytime if you run local. I prefer hitting the road right after dinner time myself.

 

I am such a night OWL. I cannot stand it when that sun drops. Especially after a good meal pending battle in a WY winter night or something.

I actually have two medicines from doc for night work. Meaning get to sleep and stay there at night.

I fear that I might be declared dead and be standing there at my own cremation because I aint dead yet or something when night comes.

The reason for night ops is you go so far and get so many miles put away without the traffic BS, useful for early morning deliveries in faraway neverland or something.
