OK, as many of you know I am getting ready to go back to trucking after a long absence. How much have the HOS rules changes since 2004? It just occurred to me. I was rolling in Michigan on 01/01/2004 at 12:01 AM and I forget how I handled the logbook that night. The preceding sentence is irrelevant. THnak you.

8/2, 8/14 still applies.
I hadn't seen your thread on coming back, who are you driving with? -
Your duty status does not change just because the clock hits midnight. If you start driving at 10pm, and you drive 8 hours straight, you log DRIVING. When you change duty status, you log DRIVING from 10pm to midnight, start a new page DRIVING until 6am where you would now show that change of duty status from DRIVING, be it on duty, off duty...whatever.

The part abut New Years eve 2004 was not applicable to the question. I was just commenting that I was drivng that night when the changes took place then. -
Hopefully swift will be good to you. The time will come to jump ship, they know this and you know this.
DoubleO7 Thanks this. -
Yes, but it is something that neither side openly talks about. Both sides know anyway. I hear so much bad about them and I remember seeing their trailers dropped in ditches, etc. back when I was driving in '03 & '04. I just hope they will give me enough miles while I am there paying the dues to re-enter trucking. -
