The pplans I got this morning at 0630 did just that.
Wanted me to pick up a load at 0800 and deliver it at 1230 - a live unload.
The second was picking up at 2330 with 3 stops, the first at 0730 and the final at 1130.
I refused the first because it didn't allow enough time. I said I could pu at 1000 and deliver at 1430. (I had just woken up, and I need a couple hours to get fully awake and ready to drive - which is how I plan my own hours. I am not about to jump out of the sack and start driving in rush hour on a load they are trying to rush me into.
Heck, they could have sent me the pplan the night before, and I would have made sure I was ready.)
And I would have refused the second just because I would not have gotten any sleep on that supposed 10 hour break, and I would have been unsafe trying to drive through the night and next morning.
The second set of pplans I got at around 1000 were much the same, and I refused those as well.
And my DM got an earfull about it as well. Not jumping on him since it was not his doing, but just to let him know what the problems were with the plans I was being sent.

But if sited a safety reason they will back down.
And really, no one can 'force' you to do anything you don't want to do.
There may be consequences, but none so bad as killing either yourself or someone else because you were too tired to drive safely. -
Told the run was to be done. It was legal. Fatigued meant nothing.
I left shortly after.
Company drivers are not treated any better than a slave. I only work in the company environment when the freight I haul is slow. -
A load like that should be refused.

What exactly would have been the reason to refuse?
You were off duty for the required 10 hours.
You were resting.
Not a valid reason.
No regulation protects you. Fatigued can be right after you get up. -

You were not there.
If you lost the guaranteed salary, you were basically fined a couple of hundred dollars.
In reality, you work for the company and they ultimately control what, where and when you do things. They control the truck idle and everything else.
I am an owner/operator and I do as I please. Maybe it is what makes working as a company driver so hard. I also understand the company position as well. -
If it is unsafe to drive, then the line should be drawn.
And, ultimately, it is you that controls what you do.
Do you think the company would take the responsibility and heat if you were to get in an accident?

You were on your break.
Guarantee of 800 a week under forced dispatch when you only got 1100 miles. Screw up on dispatch for an invalid reason after on break and your pay reverted to miles @.35 and you lost over 400.00.
See the company is in control.
