A young fellow I know rebuilt his 7cz with: kit p/n 1OR9344, BW turbo p/n S478, injectors p/n 1OR8501, cam p/n 130-9710, and a Steed Speed one piece manifold. He has tried several different files but the pyrometer will not go above 700 degrees. What are all your suggestions?

Second situation: the ecm will not tell the fan to come on. The 40 pin harness now goes into a 70 pin ecm. Cat and a reputable Pete dealer have not fixed this issue in 4 attempts. Your thoughts.

All the previous work done by the people he works with have produced excellent results. This rebuild has them stumped.

What is his boost pressures? Curious of whole turbo P/N. All parts numbers for Cat are correct for a 7CZ 600HP and that is 800 HP cam. 10R8502 would flow 20% more fuel. As far as fan, most all newer Cat flash files kick fan on for coolant temp @ 217 deg.

Plenty of boost, but wonder what backpressure is. That turbo has a smaller turbine housing A/R (1.32) than a stock C-16 (1.65) C-16 can drive more turbo than a C-15 due to the fact it has another 1.2 L of displacement. I am not a turbo expert at all, so best is to talk with a rep from BW to see if this is correct for the application. Has it been strapped to a dyno to see actual HP and torque?

Not hooked to a dyno. This combination is pretty much the same as done on other engines with good luck.I am surprised that they used a smaller than stock turbo. I doubt they have swapped ecms. He told me they were having issues and asked if I had anyone who's brain I could pick for ideas. If I recall correctly his friend has 58 injectors and pulls with the truck. I will double check that. I was hoping @superhauler would show up.

Let me get this straight. They wired it up with a 40 pin harness to a 70 pin ecm??

I running the c16 turbo with 1.32 exhaust on a C15 and 900 degrees is max it will go. I run 0958's so it don't surprise me that one only runs 700. That turbo moves so much air it will perform good in a c15 but if you have a true c16 I think your injectors are under qualified for the rest of the engine as it's built, that's just my opinion not fact. The fan will probably be in the wiring I am kinda lost on what they did with a 40 pin harness.
