A couple of years ago Progressive insured some new hotshot companies and got burned. Then they had some outrages quotes. Forget Progressive and find a company that does truck insurance instead. Yes insurance cost will be high as any new entrant. But not $ 50,000 , not dissing you Skateboard, people put all kind of stuff out there.

 

I see the thread they mentioned Berkshire Hathaway but new carrier's will not qualify. I have that but been running my own numbers 10 years. One man operation. No tickets, no OOS stay in small radius. Truck paid off. Down payment $ 1057.00 and nine payments of $ 355.78 so I am at the other end of the spectrum.

 

$4,252 a year for $1,000,000 liability and $100,000 cargo? NO WAY!!!! BS!

Progressive was lower than that, however I won't do business with them. I have friends that have Progressive and theirs is a little lower than mine. I can send you their name. I am under 26,000 I run my home state and surrounding states home most nights. Low risk for insurance company.

 

I'm with Progressive with my commercial and personal car insured combined they aren't even that high.
