So yesterday I was pulling into my delivery when I noticed my trailer tires roll on past me. They just came clean off. I went on to make my deliver and asked the forklift driver to lift my wheels onto my trailer. I did my pre trip that morning and noticed nothing wrong. I guess I sprung a leak in the wheel seal and it just got too hot. The mechanic ended up replacing the drum, new breaks, new wheel seal, new bearing for the inside and outside and a hub cap.
Now my question is I’ve driven about 100 miles since the repair and that wheel seal still feels hot to the touch. Is that normal with all new parts and new metal on metal rubbing or should I head back into a shop. I’ve already went back this morning after I realized last night they were hot after just 11 miles. I thought maybe they tightened the bearing too much. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

i recently smoked a wheel bearing cant find the picture at the moment for some reason but literally smoke rolling out of the oil bath hub. (ill add it later if i come across it) duels didn't come off but wheel bearings were trashed. and trashed the hub. had to chain the axle up off the ground.

but anyways iv always noticed hubs running slightly warmer for the first couple weeks after new seals/bearings. i think its caused by the new seal kinda wearing in and seating. but i really don't know. it shouldn't be HOT but every time i have done seals and bearings they always seemed to run a little warmer than the others for a couple weeks.

It's normal and your most likely a little gun shy and paranoid at the moment. I will say you handled your first situation like a laid back champ. Lol.
