Hotshot Dually + 3 car hauler. Under or over 26K lbs?

I've just about got everything done. same set up pretty much and i got 36k tags... your probably about 16k with no cars so add 2 one ton trucks on the trailer thats another 16k. def gonna need Class A non airbrake cdl also...and they had to be "apportion" tags on mine. $575 for truck $200 for trailer something like that. DOT inspections on truck and trailer $140. MC DOT numbers is a lot. my insurance for 2 million coverage and 150k cargo is 1100$ a month. you can get by with 1 million but its not much a price difference on my part and some companies want you to have 2 million. I've got 5000$ in just tags numbers inspections and everything its just one thing after another its ridiculous.

Getting back to the main question - under/over 26k. We got RAM 3500 and we haul 2 ENCLOSED cars that is under 26k, but it is on the very edge. Anything more than 2 cars will be over 26k

That would be me too. I was in and out of that 3 car mess in 4 months. CDL or not, can’t make’em profitable UNLESS EVERYTHING is paid off and you’re not getting hammered on insurance and all your personal bills are minuscule.

 

I have a 2005 dodge dually with a 2016 3 car kaufman for sale. I ordered the kaufman with a derated gvwr the truck is 11500gvw the trailer is 14500gvw. Total GCWR is 26k = no cdl. The combo weighs just under 15000lbs empty which leavs 11000lbs for cars. There will be loads that put you over and there will be loads that dont. As long as you are aware of the 26k limitation, you be the judge.

 

Could you elaborate a bit more? Say for instance i was to run a dually with a 3 car and work hard 6-7 days a week. up and down the east coast. maine to miami or wherever. No CDL under 26k pounds with a truck payment, no trailer payment. what would you expect gross income to be before fuel insurance etc etc. and what about net? figure a 600-700 truck payment
