That decal is a altered chassis sticker, my truck was 11,200 to start with.
Now before I started doing this I had a shop and am still a diesel mechanic, I have rebuilt wrecks and all passed inspection. I also have worked for, rollins,TRA Old dominion, Greyhound,Hertz Penske and etc. for over 25 years.
So as a qualified "expert" I done a payload analysis and determined that this type/truck would be better at a 10,000 lb GVW and a 33,000 gvcw rating. This would enable safer operation and longer service life greatly increasing safety and productivity. I can't help that it just happens to eliminate my need for a sleeping place. But when ever I point to it I;m never asked about receipts and never been asked if I was unhooked from trailer either.
# 1 rule NEVER sleep at rest areas or state property, always private property.
This will change soon, but I expect some twist to this before then.
I will continue the way I am as it has worked well for me and I rather take the 10 off at once and start over. I seen a dot guy once couldn't count hours and then forgot about time zones.

That's the way the law was written up here years ago. I did have to set the scalemaster at the New Brunswick port of entry straight on the laws though lol... took them 45 minutes and a few phone calls to figure out... they were wrong and I was right. I carried that CVSA inspection report with me from then on because they had marked clearly on it...driver sleeping in truck, no bunk...not placed out of service on it. -

have say your breakaway hooked up you'd be put OSS for not being properly connected? Not properly conected is legally the same as not hooked up if you see what I'm saying. But i've never been asked once they know that you know your're not a CMV they want ask. Why bother someone who has taken the time to read the green book. theres lots out there that don't know what it is. My findings is not that many want ask, It seems every area has it's on rules they like to enforce. ohio likes the sleeping one. I've made mental notes on the states I go to and am prepared for them. The biggest thing is have your papers you need close and logbook current. I've seen several morons pull on the scales with no logbook. I saw a guy in In. last july with no log book and I asked why did you even come accross the scales? -
Im 6'10" and 375 pounds......i cant sleep in the truck. I would be all cramped up if i tried to snooze in the back of my quadcab. I also have an 06 megacab, its huge in back, but its still too small for me to stretch out for a nap.....
I have hauled some cargo trailers and taken some pillows and blankets to catch a nap in them before. I have done that more than once. The company doesnt care that i do this either. I asked them and they said , no problem.
I have a few companies that i stay busy with, they pay for my hotels , well at least $50 for one. The ones that dont pay hotels usually dont ship too far away and pay really well, so it doesnt matter that much !!
