Does completing your 8 2 split, give you back drive time?

It gives you back what wasn’t used before you took the break. You can’t go over your 11 and 14 when you add up what you have on either side of the break.

That sounds correct, source? Or just personal knowledge?

    That doesn't sound right?

Just for the sake of simplicity I’ll just talk drive time. Let’s say you drive for 5 hours and then you log off duty and/or sleeper for a total of 3 hours, you have 6 hours available to drive. So you drive those 6 hours and then you log 7 hours in the sleeper. Once those 7 hours are up you now have 5 hours available to drive before you have to take 3 hours off duty. Once you do that then you will have 6 hours available to drive.

The only way to get your full 11/14 back is to take 10 hours.
