Some of my buddies have been warning me about Houston for a few months. Said you could take $1000 and a case of (insert your beverage of choice) and buy just about any flatbed sitting idle at the truckstops in Baytown. Gotta take something cheap to get to a better area or just deadhead and eat the cost.

So. Cal. Iffy. Is your trailer setup to haul a container?

We have a company terminal in the Houston area, and it is packed with empty trucks. When loads do come available, they are so cheap! And forget about specialized heavy haul. Nothing seems to be coming in or going out of the ports, with the exception of some container stuff.

You don't want to hear this, but I am seeing a lot off flats running all directions without freight, even the hay isn't moving out here in the west. Lumber seems to be the only consistent loads coming south from Oregon on I5.
