ive heard a lot of bad stuff regarding JB hunt and good stuff too, but nothing that quite fits my scenario. I would be out of their San Bernardino location driving regional. They offered me the position with 2350-2500 miles a week with my 34 reset at home as well as possible 10hr home time during the week. I don't exactly have my fingers crossed about the 10hr home time but I was wondering ifsomeone could tell me if there is enough freight for them to guarantee those miles. Iveheard they will tell you whatever but I also know SoCal is very active. Can anyone help?
How about JB hunt?

Ask them to specify what they mean by regional? and go u get paid for deadhead?
-
And that 34 hr restart is not even necessary anymore since they scrapped the 1am to 5am BS.

According to this ad they pay $0.42 per mile...Toomanybikes and milehunter43 Thank this. -
They pay the moment your 5th wheel goes clank onto a load. The next sound is a beep containing your net payout pending your choice of direct deposit after taxes, how much to put on your fuel card for cash in the truckstop.
That for me was the absolute best of anything in Trucking. Clank, Beep MONEY!! Now I can run the trip profitably like a business.
My dispatcher was a WARRIOR. Quiet. I can and did qualcomm him over some really basic problems like busted trailer door bolts once he handled it without yelling and held my next load a hour that was needed to replace em. (I should have had trailer bolts myself, half inch by two inch ones but never got around to them... better than say borrowing a bolt off 6 trailers eh? Im so bad....
He happened to be one of two people who I will take a 18 wheeler into the gates of hell and do battle for. It's very rare to have that place with me.
Bad side of JBH. You cannot move anywhere with a semi without 10,000 people double checking you. Come on this is big boy work, not pre-school.
And be prepared to take a licking and teasing from the few remaining outlaws out there. (I was one for decades... ugh...) -
