Its also known as a pump truck. It's a tractor trailer with a tri-plex pump. You connect to the well and pump water down hole to kill the well flow. It's also use for pumping chemicals down hole, loading and testing wells, etc.

Hey Ben, I would say the same thing is happening in crude hauling in our region. There is still plenty of work and we are busy but seeing a lot of new companies running in the area.

Update: I checked out Big Lake today - a lot of what you would expect for any small town in an oil boom...plenty of work to be had, but housing is a big issue. San Angelo (about 1 hr away) has hotels, but they are being booked fast and are expensive when you do find a room. I'm currently in Abilene where rooms are cheaper and readily available for now.

However there are still open camper spots in Big Lake if that's your thing.

I might end up heading east towards San Antonio to look for work instead. Still trying to figure out a gameplan.

I have been looking at ads for fema trailers for sale in TX for 3K up to 10K. I know what you mean about a game plan. It seems like there are a lot of opportunities but also some pitfalls to avoid. I can afford to make the move but I don't to make a mistake with who I sign on with.

I am torn between packing everything and pulling a big u-haul or renting a truck and pull my pick up behind. Or on the other hand if the only housing available is a furnished fema trailer I don't want to bring all my stuff.

the fema trailers here are mostly 8 X 30....and they expect 2 or 3 guys in ONE of them......unless you wanna pay to rent by yourself...thats the situation we foound anyway, cant say its that way all over...but that was our encounter...

There's a billboard on I20 by the 250 Loop advertising FEMA trailers for $4500. They're in Houston and will deliver if you can't pick up.

MadMax17 says he is renting a fema trailer in Midland for $1100 a month with all utilities included. I would hate sharing a small place like that with somebody. Giggles posted that you can't even turn around in the bathroom.
