How am I supposed to be able to drive a 43000 pound load?

It's actually on the door jam usually or on the registration what the estimated weight of truck was at time of registration......

 

It's like trucking 101 knowing what you can haul, and he owns the truck ??? Kinda suggests more training needed, it's pretty obvious if he wants to know what he can load to go weigh the truck and trailer...I mean it's not a wild concept

 

See this post is what I was talking about. Someone that just posted I know regularly runs 14k on his steers. 12/34/34 is ideal when running 80k but not the rule. I know I was always over 12k on the steers.

Some states do have a 12k limit on steers but most defer to the actual weight rating of the axle.

 

I’ve had this discussion at many a scale house and have always left without a ticket. On a carhauler you’d never be able to load or move. It’s the weakest link that determines what can be on the steers. Now maybe I have never been to those states as I’ve never hauled cars west of the Mississippi but I’m sure @Hammer166 is probably more well versed in the actual law in those western states but I know in the ones I’ve run we always get away with 14k.
