I never drink 24 hours before going on duty.
No alcohol in the truck. If You want it that much, probably should find a different line of work.mitrucker, snowbird_89, Farmerbob1 and 18 others Thank this. -

When I’m on the road ... I park the truck and walk to a bar or restaurant/bar for my 10 hour or 34 hour breaks. 10 hour break may be a little risky .... knock on wood , I’ve never had any problems. I tend to only drink 1 day a week , but when I drink I do tend to go heavy. Alcohol IN a truck is a big no no.
LoneRanger, cjb logistics, hopeful eyes and 1 other person Thank this. -
You can't have any alcohol in the cab of the truck. I believe that's a law. If you drive a company truck, most have no alcohol policy when your out on the road. Because your basically on call 24/7 to drive their truck. If anyone was ever in accident and tested positive. The lawyers would have a field day. No company would take that risk.

"How and when to drink alcohol?"
I drink it out of a chilled pint glass usually unless I'm mixing something over ice. Sometimes it's Bailey's or amaretto in my coffee.
As for when, I'd say as often as possible. Daily, at least a beer. How else would one wind down from a day of traffic?feldsforever, Flat Earth Trucker, hopeful eyes and 10 others Thank this. -
I make sure to keep the curtain closed to keep them separate.feldsforever, aaronpeterbilt3787, Dino soar and 14 others Thank this.
