How and when to drink alcohol?

Here’s my tried and true method of having a few beers when i shut down. After you shower, buy your drink of choice then walk out the front door. Then put said beverages into your shower bag and walk around back to the parking area and easy peasy, close the curtains and unwind. Either that or just wait till it’s dark, lol

 

Drivers, a beer or two, as in REALLY TWO at the very start of your ten hour break, perhaps, but still a bad idea. If you’re slamming back 3-4 hours into your break and then driving 5-6 hours later when your ten hour break is up? You’re really asking for it. Don’t drink on the truck, and drink on a 34, or home time. 10 hours goes by so quick out there. Get in to truck stop, unwind a few...Eat something, take a shower, check in with the wife, you’re down to only 6 hours of time left and if you start driving then? That’s not enough time for alcohol to be out of your system.

We already don’t get enough regular rest, eat a crappy diet, never get any exercise, why add drinking into the mix? You’ll be diabetic before you know it!

 

I like to drink a 12 oz glass of straight vodka while doing my pretrip. Gets me in the right mood to face a long day on the road.

Just kidding. Keep alcohol and trucking separate. It ain’t rocket science. Drive sober and enjoy some cold ones when you are not working, That is what I have done for over twenty years.

 

I've been trying out this breathalyzer and when ever I drink the amount I want to drink the next day I'm blowing at least a .06 when I wake up... Not going to fly. Since I'm not trucking at the moment I think it's a good idea to have a few drinks because I'm super stressed out but out there on the road I better not be stressed out and just pass on the drinks even if I am. IF I EVER decide to drink I think the only time would be when I'm FORCED to do a 34 hour reset like after a long work week and I'm out of hours to drive IDK there has to be a way to force yourself to take a 34 hour reset... If that was the case I would only drink immediately when starting the reset and then no more like an hour into the reset... That would give me time to clear my system and return to 0.00! at least that is my theory and it all depends on how much you drink... Thank god for this walmart breathalyzer for giving me a better understanding of BAC.

 

Best time is all the time and vaping is pretty discreet or edibles if you prefer.

Actually a good draught beer is like detergent for your kidneys according to my doc,.keeps em clean. Save the kidney cleanse for a pub on your re set or hometime.

 

I think I'll just order some hops online and make some hops water to drink... the last time i tried that i got a pretty good buzz just from drinking the hops water... bitter as hell though. I don't think drinking is at all a good idea even when you have a reset as the hang over last for days... its a really bad idea to try and drive when youre not feeling your best.

 

That would explain the constant trips to the men's room
