A car is just a vehicle. But a truck is also a "home." So if the keys are away it's not being used as a vehicle. Otherwise people in RVs would be charged for diu too

Ok......it's like this: it's only illegal if you get caught. If you wanna drink a little, the 34 is the best time. If you buy a 12 pk, don't go in there with your headset on, go out the door where 4 wheeler customers come in, carry it out in a bag, nose in when you park, walk where you can't be seen. Most of all, DON'T TALK TO ANYBODY!

If you have a couple beers at the end of the day make sure you are out of hours because dispatch might call you to repower a load at about the time you get done chugging. And if another driver see's you taking a couple of 40's into the truck its not uncommon for them to drop a dime on you.

What a scumbag thing to do but I know you're right.

I heard the following story from a driver at Knight: a driver parked at their Katy, Texas yard had a surprise truck inspection done by a supervisor. Another driver with a grudge against him narked that he had two beers in his truck. They fired him and put the cause of firing on his DAC as "alcohol" so then no one else would touch him. He came back a month later and shot that supervisor in the face with a shotgun.

Fired employee kills co-worker and himself at Katy area business

Cops can charge you with anything but I would love to meet the jury that would convict me of of sleeping in my backseat.
