I am not gonna sit and watch TV while driving and by god, I couldn't or excuse me, wouldn't do this job if you had to be a trucker 24/7... even cops and marines get their down time...

I am not gonna sit up all night backing my truck into a parking space so i can get good at backing!!! Yes I will practice and yes I am going to be a good trucker not a super trucker, just like my Mom And Dad were, but this is a part of my life, not my entire life...

I work to live not live to work...I am 36, not 106, I have to have my play time...

If this is how some truckers live,No wonder why there are soo many Arnry, uptight truckers then!!!

I plan to stop and see the alamo, independance hall, Mt rushmore etc... when I have some down time, I am gonna go and check out the places i have wanted to go...I will rent a car and go see the sights...34 hours in a truck doesn't sound great, call enterprise "they'll pick you up" LOL...

How do companies feel about company drivers installing a sattlite tv system on the cab of their truck? Are there some companies that forbid it? If so, which ones allow it?

Yea, but you have to pay for your mobile card and internet service at your house as well. Also, I bought the slingbox and it will not work with my HP laptop running windows vista. Slingbox could not get it to work after several attempts.

hi all, i finally have resolved my t.v. watching, i went with sat. dish mounted at the back of the cab, the install was done by a sat store in west memphis AR i had purchased my dish from camping world store before i realized i was going thru memphis or i could have purchased it from, but it came with a stand that may be used away from the truck.

i purchased a signal meter and receiver from them as well and had them install everthing and then show me how to work and locate the setup.

i have some downtime today and got the dish and sat. located in 5 min. for my first time doing it.

i choose Dish network as that is what i have at home and cost 5.oo extra a month.

    take care and be safe..

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, or laid over, or
even weather delayed, to keep from going loony tunes, its nice to have
options to keep sane. I have a DVD player and satillite, I may look insane
(LOL) but I feel sane. "A man must know his lamatations...!":biggrin_2552:
