I suppose you're going to want windows that roll up and down? And windshield wipers.? Tires with tread? You may have to wait a while. The better equipment goes to those with seniority.

Sounds like all the "clique" talk is gone. Looks like i'll never be a card carrying member. FML.....
So now, I've set my sights a little bit higher. Shoot for the moon, as they say.
So i'm now taking offers from the Administrators for a Moderator position.
I hear they got a COL 10% increase and a better benefits package.
I'm the man for the job.

The first rule of secret TTR clique club, is don’t talk about secret TTR clique club. lol
@rch10007 You are never going to be able to bring people together or discuss common rates. The best thing you can do is to inspire others by your own rates. We used to do this on a regular basis in certain threads of the past but that does still get haters who don’t believe what they are reading. However, the lurkers who are in the thousands, will see it. The problem is, this also can inspire people to buy trucks which is counter productive to higher rates. It’s a bit of a catch 22.
As far as brokers, they used to be hated with a passion on here but I think it was mostly because there were none to inject a common balance of info. Admitting to being a broker on here was essentially immediate ban hammer. There certainly were none that were also carriers or it wasn’t openly talked about. Nowadays information and perspective flows a bit more freely. Sure, there are crap brokers, just like there are crap carriers. But, there is a need and place for everyone especially if your trying to do a good business.
Edit: I truly do think as a TTR community we are all raising the bar both in personal responsibility being the norm, and success and pushing rates up being the standard. When I first started lurking and coming around, the narrative was $2/mi = good. Nowadays you just don’t read that and people pushing for $3 to $5/mi aren’t laughed at as make believe. Brokers were a piranha and should be shot on sight. Now they are a customer to be kept at arms length but relationship in the long term is potentially there. So, as much as I hated Obama.. he would say your not going to score a goal on every kick, the idea is to work the ball methodically down the field towards the goal. My point being, your not going to change the world in one thread.Brettj3876, JimmyTwoTimes, Sirscrapntruckalot and 9 others Thank this. -
I think this thread has lots of great info and much to consider for those that seek it out.
MartinFromBC Thanks this.
