I already have a leader, it happened the day that ring went on her left hand.Another Canadian driver, bryan21384, Siinman and 5 others Thank this. -
Put your money where your mouth is:
San Antonio, TX to Baltimore, MD = $4702.71Another Canadian driver and RJM1953 Thank this. -
I want truckers that duct tape their mirrors to read some legit rates so they'll know what they SHOULD be charging.
Why is this such a bad thing?Another Canadian driver, RJM1953 and Oxbow Thank this. -
That's the problem.
If truckers want more money, then bid higher. I'm lucky to get one "yes" for every twenty loads I call on. I called about a TMC load yesterday. No rate posted. He said they wanted to get it done for $1,600. I said we're not even in the same solar system, and we'd probably never be able to make a deal on this particular load. I was looking at $4,000. And I can tell you right now, I'm a terrible negotiator. I just have standards that I adhere to.
Like a wise man on this forum once said: "Filter the load board according to your minimums. If no loads show up, find something else to do."blairandgretchen, Another Canadian driver, bryan21384 and 5 others Thank this. -
That's not any of this works. I can tell you every load I have ever taken and you can't take it from me. You can't underbid me either. You don't know where I'm at any given time nor would you know what loads I am bidding on.
I am merely trying to provide a freaking reference and resource for those that cannot figure out how to calculate a lane rate. I'm just asking for a little help from all these "experts" that have 50 hundred years in the truck.
Help if you want. Don't if you don't. Just stop ####tting in threads because you're scared to take criticism. I'm taking all sort of crap just because I'm trying to be a positive influence in the trucking community. Keep it coming though...it makes me no difference.Another Canadian driver and RJM1953 Thank this. -
If I'm hauling a lane for $6,000, and you're hauling it for $3,000, why TF would I tell you how to make another three grand? Making that extra three grand is your problem. Me personally, I want you to go out of business so I can charge even more.
You're basically attempting to price fix. How'd that work out last time? Not to mention there's like ten people on this forum. Talk about pissing in the wind.blairandgretchen, Sirscrapntruckalot, Another Canadian driver and 11 others Thank this. -
Tell us the truth - you can't negotiate worth AF, and you want our info to either:
A. Use as a crutch because you don't know how to price your own miles.
B. Garner information in an attempt to underbid lanes as little as possible to get work and still keep lanes as high as you can.
You sound a lot more like a used car salesman than a carrier.blairandgretchen, Sirscrapntruckalot, Another Canadian driver and 11 others Thank this. -
If I'm hauling in your lane for $3k and I know you're making $6k, I can charge more thereby keeping the average lane rate HIGHER...for us both. Is it that difficult to comprehend?
Another Canadian driver and RJM1953 Thank this. -
