Ohh but I’m worried my friend cause obviously there are plenty pulling a step who don’t think the way I do!! Maybe I’m greedy I don’t know but for me there are rarely quick loads!! It either pays a rate per mile or per day!! Anything less than 300 miles for me is rate per day unless I can get rate per mile but most won’t pay my per mile rate since it’s higher than my per day rate

    But more important.
There are to many trucks on the road period. We're we not promised with CSA scoring that bad carriers would be weeded out?
Once again sip more kool aid and don't say anything about the lies we are force fed.

If Florida paid 2/mi coming out then you wouldn’t get 3 going in. So cheap freight is only bad if you hauled cheap getting to another cheap area. 1/mi is t bad if you got 3 or 4 going in. It’s just market forces. I agree though time needs to be considered and sometimes dead head half way and then take a load for the same total dollars you would have gotten if loaded close to where you delivered.

I don’t go to Florida or Texas though. It’s hard right now but I try my hardest to run from good areas into also good areas. That’s the trick.

First I don’t drink kool-aid I’m grown that’s a kids drink!!! Because I like this forum I will refrain from my initial response!!! I also hope you pull a van or reefer!!! That way you can destroy those rates however you like in the name of a profit!! I hope no one ever undercuts your customers and leave you having to run those cheap 1.00 a mile loads you think are okay to haul on a backhaul!!! My fuel or expenses don’t get cheaper cause it’s a backhaul!! I don’t care how good of freight I pulled out with it plays no bearing to me on what I haul a reload for going somewhere else!!! My time cost of fuel type of equipment needed area the load is going too does!! Trucking has been around for a long time bad carriers always get weeded out usually In slow markets like what we are in now!!! To many trucks on the road you keep listening to the crap then brokers feed you to take that cheap load you hauling!!

How do you think I haul $1 per mile freight?
I stopped doing that in 2015.
I will drive company truck before using my own truck for $1 per mile line haul.

Look I hear ya but rates don’t get pulled out of then air!! Most of these brokers base rates off of rates for previously hauled loads!! If I can’t get 3.00 to Florida or Texas I ain’t going!!! As long as it’s northern Florida. I don’t even look at the board till I hit Georgia or Alabama!! Back to what I’m saying if that freight in Florida Texas I guarantee you that freight rate would go up till it got moved!! But way too many are willing to take less just to keep some money rolling in

If you are not part of the problem then sincerely my apologies!! I must have misunderstood your earlier statement!!! I tell you like I told the broker yesterday before I haul a load cheap I keep enough play money to fuel and head for greener pastures even if that means all the way back to the house
