How are miles per load determined? I was told when I hired on they use a Rand McNally program to determine this. It determines it from city point to city point and that's why miles vary per load. If that's the case where can I find an app for my pc or phone to check what RMc says? Does anyone else know of a place to find it, because when I check miles from city to city on google maps the miles are always different than what I'm paid. I just don't see how Google and RaMc would differ, and if so 1-5 miles should be the max difference...

You'll get screwed out of paid miles with any company. usually about 10%. The nature of the beast. I mean, how easy is this run: Downtown L.A.-El Paso. Only one way to get there, jump on the 10 fwy in downtown and get off in El Paso. BUT, the company will short you, guaranteed.

Some use odometer miles and some use other means...I think it's company specific...I know we use actual miles driven...And I've never been screwed out of miles from WS...Our stubs show us how many we're paid on and I've never been shorted...

Nope. I shoulda never said anything. I violated, for the second time now on this forum, my own rule of never ever state anything you cannot prove unequivocally.

As I said they told us they use a RandMc app of some kind. I want this app on my laptop or phone one. Looked for it on phone and no luck, but there has to be something for computer somewhere if these companies have it.
As far as straight miles instead of route miles, that would be impossible. There are some trips that if you went straight it'd show 50 but be 100 when you drive it. -
No, I can't point out the regulation and I looked. I was told this by what I considered a reliable source who is in a position to know in corporate. But since I cannot verify it, I retract it. I shoulda never said anything anyway. I will learn soon enough. It is now edited.
