How are you guys lease purchases going?

PAM is paying $1.02/mi + FSC OTR, $1.00/mi + FSC dedicated, with Brand New 2020 Peterbilt 579s and payment is $599/week for a 5 year walk away lease.

 

Is that a good or not so good deal?

 

Sad part is somebody will jump all over that. Those rates are an absolute joke.

Who would pay, for arguments sake, $2400 a month, and run at a buck a mile ?

None of those programs are worth a sheet....Once in a blue moon a driver will survive and walk away with a truck...Good for him/her, but what do you have really ? I fleet spec aero truck with high miles and no warranty or very little warranty left on it. The market is flooded with trucks exactly like that and they aren't worth anything.

If you or anyone else think you can survive in a lease and make it work have at it......The numbers don't add up from the get go.
