Right now I am running an O/O's truck for him (solo) on a dedicated route through Swift. I have a year in now and am looking to go O/O for myself in the future and am just wondering how those succesful O/O's who check this place out are making it work...
My situation: 24 years old, no accidents whatsoever, no tickets whatsoever, I've got about $20k in the bank for a down payment & misc costs, I currently run anywhere from 2800-3800 miles per week (with that number trending downward of late due to dispatch) but I am capable of running 3500+ miles week in and week out.
I know situations vary greatly but I am just looking for a situation that will keep the miles coming with minimal BS and keeping some freedom. I've tried combing through al the posts on here to seperate the good from the bad but for every positive post there is an equal number of negative ones. I know this is a somewhat vague question but if you've got a story of your own personal O/O success I would really love to hear it and gain some knowledge from you, what's worked and what's not. I promise I am no salesman, I'm not going to be spamming you, I just want some straight shooters to give me some details here. More or less I am just looking for a mentor in the world of the O/O.
I thank you very much for your time and look forward to replies.
How are you making it work? Anyone willing to mentor me?
