Every year around January February (slowest months) people are contemplating the end of the world! Suicides, domestic violence... When the boom mellows in about 10-15 yrs, they will not be sending the truckers home first!

My wife and I are getting aready to go to Phoenix to see the grandkids. Mid range hotels in Tx from Big Springs thru the patch to Pecos are charging $150 to $200 a night. The patch sure ain't dead yet!!

Cannibalism. Human sacrifices charred and hanging from flare stacks to appease the oil gods.

We are a little slow right now, but it always slows down this time of year in my experience. Once everything warms up and stuff thaws out it'll be balls to the walls again.

If you are planning to come to North Dakota I would think twice about it. They are laying off every day.Not like it was a few years ago,if you had a pulse you had a job.

Yes, but unlike last year and the year before and the year before ..... Crude is under $50/bbl.
The typical end of year slow down you're referring to is due to the holidays and companies waiting for new budgets. I'll bet my sack that those new budgets won't be anywhere near as high as last year when oil was around $100/bbl

The apache lease that I work on had 10 rigs on it in November. They just laid the last one down on Friday. In november, it used to look like a city between mertzon and barnhart. Now, there are only 2 rigs left in the entire area, and traffic is down by more than half. Thousands of people are being laid off... Rates and hours are being cut. Bonuses are axed. So ill ask you. Is it bad right now?

Hauled 12 loads of sand last week for Halliburton and have 2 thus far. Ya I can tell things have slowed a bit, finding a spot to park at 1 am is a lot easier these days. I can afford the temporary 15% cut we took and since I'm not one that spends what I make I can wait this one out. Come April I'm confident things will get somewhat where they were for me a couple months ago. If not I have my plan B.
