Just don't even count on that backing on a public roadway.
TRY walking all the way back from the rear of the trailer, backward, and get in your truck w/o some 4-wheeler being able to slip in behind you.
Virtually impossible to be CERTAIN one didn't, and those SOBs CAN and DO come out of nowhere, and at the worst possible time.
Backing Rule 1: Don't do it unless you have to.
How bad is one Moving violation towards getting another cdl job

I appreciate the reply gpsman and I will remember that rule from now on

I would be happy with the improper backing ticket. You got lucky that the other vehicle was still driveable, Otherwise you could ve been charged with a DOT recordable accident because the other car would ve had to be towed away
-
it was Dot reportable the sheriff that came out said any thing involving a cmv requires the state and the vehicle was towed but not to much damage as i said punctured a hole in either radiator or coolant tank but no big leak there was no hazmat puddle to clean up other than that i bent my tarp crank handle my boss at the time don't use dac so i don't know if i have a dac and he was my first truck driving job and here you guys go heres what the vehicle looked like after i stupidly backed into it

Oh. Well hell. Considering what the car you backed into was, it would appear that you were just trying to put the poor thing out of its misery! Sorry excuse for a car, let alone for a Jeep. . .
I still think you'll be OK with it. -
thanks Big Don i appreciate the advice its a big help do i have a csa or dac score because of that being dot reportable cause my boss at the time don't use dac curious on that
-
If you were issued a ticket, you will have a DAC. If not, then maybe yes, maybe no. Easiest way to find out is to contact them: Hireright.
-
i was issued a $120 ticket which i didn't fight cause i knew i was completely in the wrong so i paid it immediately is this bad enough for my dac that other companies and local companies won't hire me
-
You won't know until you have contacted the companies you are interested in. Sorry, I did see that in your post, I just spaced it out. It won't hurt to take a look at the Hireright website in any case.

guys also i applied to 2 local companies i told them all about the improper backing and my preventable from 2011 but i didn't tell them i got a $120 ticket the apps didn't ask about tickets, cdl info,or accidents so i told them up front about what i had on my record but didn't say i got a $120 ticket for the improper backing should i call all i applied to and let them know about the ticket including ones i applied to before the incident occured should i fill out new apps for all local companies i applied to before the incident so they have all info on me
