I do not know the process, but I do know you have to pay for the privilege and can't even do that until it has been 5 years. I know several people that have done it, and I think the payment is a one time deal.
Some offences are worse than DUI, I had a friend that ran from a cop on his dirt bike when he was something like 16 years old. His job was hauling John Deere equipment to Alaska, When he got that job, the Canadian govt allowed him to run for 1 year and try to get it off of his record, at the end of the year, his lawyer hadn't been able to clear his record, so he was not allowed back in to Canada.
As far as the OP's record from his younger days, heck half of the old timers would have never been out here to start with if that was bad enough to keep you from getting a job. lol
How bad will my criminal/driver record hurt me?

There are two different processes for entry into Canada. One is some form of a bond you pay. This deemed rehab is automatic but has several important restrictions. I have about 15 windows open in my browser right now. I just can't get to the Canadian website where this information can be found. I will try later though.

LOL. Hopefully I will never need that info for myself.

The original post is 13 years old.

Whats wrong with that? I don't think it's about the OP anymore.
There is a reason someone found it. There is still a relevant question/answer to be found.
Is starting a new thread and waiting days/weeks for answers to come in somehow better?
Whats wrong with leaving something for the people who search for answers rather than ask first? -
That's what the search function at the top right of the page is for. Before I post a question, I always search first because maybe the answer has already been given. If I don't find the answer, or it's answered in a really old post, then I'll ask. That's why the search function is there.Mooseontheloose and skellr Thank this.

Yeah, I agree with that.
How many searches for "whatever" end up with some outdated-dead info? Wouldn't it be nice if someone just updated a "dead" post, even if it was years after the OP? Just so you wouldn't read through it only to find nothing, and then need look somewhere else.COBB2070 Thanks this. -
Or if the OP actually did a follow up post to let you know what happened in the end. I hate reading through 2-3 pages of people's advice (good advice mind you), and the OP leaves you hanging.

You know, I am shocked there are so many people that post in here that seem to want to make the rules of why you do this or that! I was under the impression that was what the staff was for. Is it a pain when an old post gets recycled, yes it is sometimes. However, it is not right or wrong. It is just what it is, and what it is is allowed by the staff!
