The last thing a 4wheeler needs is another distraction. Ya'll can barely drive as it is. You need to concentrate on the task at hand(driving), not multitasking with cell phones, eating, reading the comics, ect...

    Very true.

But I will say, Ive seen a lot less truck drivers as opposed to 4-wheelers that forget their car has turn signals and that its kinda the law to use them....

You'd be surprised at the number of Bluetooth CBs that are in use in most trucks.... I for one dont have one because Im not the type to have these lenghty conversations on a CB. My CB spends a lot of time in the "OFF" position.

Uhhh... that's "dumb nonsense". But I'm "shore" you know that! :biggrin_25523:

As for getting directions, isn't that what trip planning is about?

I'm quite certain that distracted driving isn't solely a four-wheeler problem. It cuts across all paths -- bikes, automobiles, and trucks alike. Truckers aren't exempt.

There actually is a big difference between cell phone usage and CB radio usage while driving, but in general, two hands on the wheel is preferred. Here's an example of what happens when the driver of a car is more interested in their phone conversation than in driving their 2,000 pound missle...

This is actual footage from two of the three cameras in my rig. My bumper gets repaired next week, her insurance company gets to pay for it.

Anything that distracts from driving should not be done while driving, regardless of the vehicle being driven. The driver of the car was on her phone, and "didn't see the big rig."

Wow.... And at the beginning of an offramp for that matter.

Whether that was because of talkin on a cell phone or not, I wish I had a dollar for every 4-wheeler that cut me off for an offramp..... Id be rich by now.

You think maybe she learned her lesson??

Unfortuneatly, my money's leanin more towards no....
