Exactly, anyone who has ever driven in that city knows this, I was there just the other day in bumper to bumper traffic, coming up to the end of the merge signal on and this car was insistant on not letting me in, you should see how fast they smarten up when you start to squeeze him into the wall, he backs off to let me in and everything is fine.

that is just how it is in Montreal, and people expect it. it is amazing how anybody gets to work in one piece in that city.

^^It's similar in NYC. Nothing to get upset over, nobody's going to hand you a writen invitation just because you put your blinker on.

Yup, and stupid #### like that is exactly why I won't touch the brakes until contact has been made. Are those company mouted camera's or personal?

No, I have not driven in Montreal traffic. But if I can't make a lane change safely, I'm not going to do it -- wherever I am.

    MUAHAHAHA!!!
Rolling JC Whitney cataog??? Thats freaking hillarious.......

I'll cut some slack to the contractors pulling trailers but this chuckle-head really cheesed me off this morning. (WAWA on Rt. 30 in East PA.) I think he even pulled open my trailer door because he thought I was too close to him. I should have blocked him in untill I was finished buying MY coffee![/QUOTE]

Why would he open one of your trailer doors?? I guess Im a little confused about that part.
I agree with you. But, I get just as frustrated at most 4-wheelers because most of the time, I just cant figure out if its just stupidity, lack of common sence or just lack of knowledge period for some of the things they do but before I got into the industry, I was just as bad because Ive learned quite a few things myself. Maybe they need to start teaching this stuff in the driving courses so that people understand bigrigs and why they do things a certain way and why they are incapable of doing certain things and show people what happens when you cut off an 80k bigrig who cant stop on a dime. But, do they teach that??

I feel your pain man, but threating people off the road is not the way to deal with it. That just makes them do more stupid stuff that may even more get'em killed eventually.

No, just try to absorb every little bit of information a truckdriver gives you. Then if you still choose to drive the way you want, refer to the above comment.

You can't be serious. The chances of a big rig going down the road and the trailer "just happens to UNHOOK from the fifth wheel?" I've never even heard of that happening except MAYBE withing the first mile of driving it. And then the likelihood of me drafting that same trailer and getting hemmed up in an accident with it? If that's what I have to worry about while drafting a truck, I'll take my chances.
If that's such a "real Possibility" maybe you 18wheelers should heed your own warnings to lowly 4wheelers and stop drafting each other. I've hardly ever drafted a truck closer than y'all do. It's actually quite often that I see a group of 3 to 5 big rigs following within 30 ft. of each other. If the front one stopped or even tapped his brakes the second or third in line would be sniffin' tail and causing a monumental pileup. But its o.k. for you, a mortal sin for us 4wheelers. I got it now.

Furthermore, I don't get how you 18 wheelers believe that somehow an 18 wheeler is the upper echelon of truckers and everyone else that has a smaller rig is of a lesser class. The "truckers" that transport our mail and small packages in 26' box trucks or Sprinters. Dump truck drivers. F550's -750's pulling 53' carhaulers. 3/4 ton trucks pulling campers and boats. We are all just as important and necessary as each other. We have our own niche and shouldn't be knocked or degraded because that's our chosen rig. O.K. you transport 45,000 lbs or more. Woopee. When you want someone to build your home, you need a dump truck for your gravel, a busket truck for your electrician, and a toter for your Modular home or office.
When you want to go camping or boating, you sure are thankful then that a lowly pickup owner/operator transported it to your retailer. And I doubt that your package with the onboard Generator that you're relying on every night to keep cool, and the box truck that got it to you, is delivered by a trucker that you would consider to be a nuisance and that they should just stay the HALE outta your way.
The Point being, Everyone in the transportation industry, no matter how small or large their vehicles are, are needed to move our needed goods. 18wheelers are no more important than the others. Quit putting yourselves on such a high pedestal. You're not more important than any of the others. Its everyones road...

I only drive an expedite van, but I am becoming increasingly frustrated with inconsiderate drivers. When I merge over to let you on the highway, it is a courtesy. What frustrates me is when I try to get back over and you refuse to let me over because I am moving slower than you. I turn my signal on to indicate I want back in the slow lane, but you insist on passing me on the right.

The same holds true for when I am passing somebody who is moving slower than me. I may not be driving 75 or 80 plus in a 70 MPH zone, but I am going 65 to 68. Suddenly, there are 3 cars behind me and before I can turn my signal on to merge back into the slow lane, one of you are shooting between me and the vehicle I am passing, not allowing me to get out of your way so you can speed on past. This not only endangers myself, but also the slower moving vehicle you just cut in front of to get around me.

    Bogey and tech10171968 Thank this.

I know a driver that this happened to. Pulled his trailer 200 miles and when he pulled away from a stop light, his trailer didn't go with him.
