I just squelch the sob out.

Still trying to figure out why in hot hades I'd need a "bear report" from 75 miles away

Smart business owners reserve the right to do business with those that they choose and are very good at asking the right questions to determine if someone is a potential problem customer incapable of following instructions.

Do you run Wyoming very much? If an accident happens an hour ahead of you, you're only going to hear about it when it's too late to go around it if you have your squelch turned up.
I like to know about the rolled over FedEx trucks an hour before I get to them so I can have plenty of opportunity to go around it on US30 instead of sitting in the back up on interstate 80.
I take it through some miracle of luck, you've never been stuck in a backup.
A 10 mile receiver isn't going to help you bypass an accident that happened an hour ahead of you.

That guy isn't working on radios. Every time he says "back to the bench" he keys up 5 minutes later.

I guess you don't understand how things work. If I'm 2 hours ahead of you and I'm talking to a friend of mine in California and I tell him about road conditions and he repeats what I told him. You are going to hear him even though you're 2 hours behind me.

I run a business, I don't turn down work for my drivers unless there is a real problem with a customer. But I don't ask them if they can follow the instructions, I work for them, they tell me what they need.

Techs who claim that are worthless but dumping or refusing someone who is incapable of following instructions?

Look I get you are a lead follower, the bishop of the cult of the CB god mark.

I get that you follow his gospel to the letter, like shun those who don't believe in him and all of that other cult crap but a good business owner depends on reputation, they maintain that reputation.

His behavior in business and among the public isn't the best, so it seems it is only the desperate and the cult followers who would use their services in order to be able to boast about having a radio anointed by the CB god Mark.

This isn't a new story, its been around for decades, more than 50 years - always someone who can be a little more edgier than the others, in this case it is about a simple device that has not changed in almost 60 years and while you and a few others have something to show how great the CB god is, most in life don't give a crap, they just want their radio to work.

There were other CB gods before him and will be after him, just as there were cults come and go.

Be it the original Bluegill, or the original mud duck who were excellent techs and would still put Mark to shame with their reputation or people like the Doc Radio out of Cinci back in the late 70's, or the real good amp builders from the north east - the guys who built the 10k mobile amps for serious shootouts, they actually went out and bought GMC suburbans to house the amps they built and sold them as a package.

All of these are faded legends who have made discoveries to make it possible for the Marks to exist, they all had their cult followings, their bishops to shun those questioning them and their CB god.

Nothing to see here, other than someone who is crapping on people on the radio which they depend on for information, pretty good way to uphold a reputation.

actually, what he's doing is illegal.

call the FCC and report him.

there was a guy in NC, (up around Dobson, me thinks), that did it in the 90's and someone found where he lived, reported it to the FCC and they confiscated all his equipment.
