Leaving courtesy out of the responses, because I'm already pretty courteous.
What would you advise your employees or friends to focus on Untill it became habit?
Thanks.

Speech/words/language. Most people including myself don’t speak no good. I’ve noticed lately I don’t think about what I’m going to say and when I open my mouth some mess comes out.
I know this has nothing to do with skills, but it’s still important. -
Comunication is a huge percentage of what we do, I never would have though of that. Thanks!!
Coffey, Jarhed1964 and TheLoadOut Thank this. -

PAY ATTENTION!!!
turn off the devices and just drive the truck. look at the mirrors, watch out for the distracted ones.
do you really need a GPS, yapping at you, to drive from LA to Memphis. no. the last few miles ,yes.Gearjammin' Penguin, Jarhed1964, jason6541 and 6 others Thank this. -
Be connected with your surroundings. No headphones, loud radio, GPS etc etc. Always know what's around you in your mirrors and leave both windows slightly cracked for more acoustic feedback too. Run a CB, be a part of the community. Call others out for negligent and rude behavior. We are our brother's keepers.
Gearjammin' Penguin, Coffey, The Crossword Trucker and 6 others Thank this. -
I do need a c.b. my last one died so I donated it to the shop in wytheville va just about a year ago.
GPS I've been with out for about two weeks now. I'm sure ill get another one eventually. I Google address to address.
Then I write down the highways. Double check them via the 2020 truck atlas. I use Google to get on and off the highways. But that lack of gps, is what inspired this question. Because of not having one. I'm forced to pay more attention. I went from missing 3 or 4 turns a week. To only having missed one so far. Albeit I have had to slow down quite a bit. 8/9 mph86scotty, Jarhed1964, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
Everyday, in every situation, give it your very best. You never know who's watching, a compliment is a nice thing to hear, respect is given, a lucrative job offer if someone sees & likes your professionalism is always a possibility.
Things can turn bad much quicker then they can turn rewarding so never take your eye off the ball.Last edited: Jul 6, 2021

Professional appearance. No foul language. Proper attire and footwear.
- no sandals, pajama pants, beach shorts at customer sites.
- Don't park the truck in the middle of a drive way to check in, especially if there are parking spots nearby.Dino soar, Numb, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this.
