Hardest thing about trk driving is having to put up with the laws and how companies treat us.The job itself physically isn't bad,but sure can't put alot mental stress on you.

 

Make sure you understand the HOS and how to log properly. The DOT officers out there will whittle you down with tickets, fines and, worst of all, your CSA scores will eventually get so high you won't be able to get or keep a job. Do some research on the FMCSA regs through website searches like jjkeller.com or contact OOIDA or NASTC. I'm sure they will be willing to help you. At OOIDA, ask for the compliance department. At NASTC, ask for Rick Gobble. This latest wave of FMCSA regs are designed to trip you up, have no real value for safety and work against the smaller companies and single truck operators, while favoring the big ones. Avoid accidents at all costs, even if you are 100% not at fault. Even then you get points added to your score that work against your personal rating - and that's a cryin' shame!
