I don't think that I could run team, either. He didn't mention that he ran team. He did state that he was running 5,000-6,000 miles per week. The only way he could do that legally is to run team. I made an assumption based upon the number of miles he stated that he was running.
How can I get out of contract?

For that pay and miles I'd say team as well. Looking at their pay scale he fits in the 1-2 months at .22 cpm. Says all miles are split miles paid. Sounds like you have to run team there for most part.

Most carriers that run teams usually pay the team more than a solo driver. I don't know how many single or solo drivers CRST has, but most will pay a solo driver a higher rate for the miles they drive, but they may or may not make more than they would if they were driving team. Most solo drivers will average about 2,500-3,000 miles per week. A solo driver may make $0.30/mile. He could be paid more, but this is easy to calculate. Even at 3,000 miles in a week the driver would earn $900. The poster stated that he would run 5,000-6,000 as a team and be paid $0.22/mile for all miles driven. That means that he will make $1,100-1,320 as a team. A solo driver must stop and take a 10 hour break. With a team, the truck can essentially keep moving 24/7. In either case, I don't see any reason to complain about the pay. In both cases, the driver will earn an above average income.Another Canadian driver and BigJohn54 Thank this. -
Aloha to all, yes I have been running teams w/crst. So basically .22cents X 5000 miles divided by 2 = $ 550.00 - unpaid scales + unpaid tolls =< 75.00> brings weekly total to 475.00 then of course - taxes = ...... I knew the amount of pay for the 1st year prior to going into this industry being a contract student. I just didn't think that I was going to pay out of my own pocket for tolls, scales ect and have to fight to get that money back. Just frustrated but hey the time is almost done and then on to better things. Some learning experience though ): Mahalo to all the feedback. Mauidave

Try to stay positive. 11cpm is insulting, even to a student driver.
With a good attitude like I'm seeing here, honorable history by fulfilling your end of a lopsided contract and a little footwork, you will land a position that will make this eight months worth it.
Then you can say a permanent "aloha" to CRST.Another Canadian driver, mauidave22 and BigJohn54 Thank this. -
I thought your part was $0.22/mile for all miles driven on the truck. That isn't much money, but you are almost at the end of your contract. If it were me I would hang on until the contract was fulfilled. You have come this far, a little longer and all of this will be behind you. Then, on to the next chapter in your great driving adventure.Another Canadian driver and mauidave22 Thank this. -
I'M one month in to my contract haven't even finished my 28 days, I've done 13 with 6,700 I need 11 more days and 5,300 miles to go had problem with first trainer not showering. safety told me to get off truck. so I got off the truck on Friday back on truck by Tuesday the following week with new trainer. they gave us load we told them we couldn't deliver on time cause trainer wanted me to run it solo to see how i'm doing. we stopped the next morning to sleep for awhile. dispatched called us and told us they giving the load to someone else. then they gave us another load to pick up in Ontario,ca so we headed back to the yard to shower and get some food before we had to pick up that load. both me and the trainer go into the terminal in riverside,ca and we come back out to the truck and there's a QUALCOMM message saying I need to get off the truck. I call dispatch to find out whats going on and they put it all on the trainer saying he said he felt uncomfortable with me on the truck. which was a load of bs. so I got off the truck. and in all they were worried he would quit his job while I was on the truck with him even though he said he would stay until I finished my training. he told them if things changed for him he was gonna quit when he was done with me. so I told them I was going home cause I had no money to survive on and no food to survive on while they found me new trainer. dispatch gave me two phone number of trainer that would be near me and that would be able to get me. ones truck was in shop until this Monday. the other one didn't deliver until sunday in Prescott Arizona. so he was out of the question...I told dispatch Monday that the trainer that had his truck in the shop he wasn't sure he would be done by end of day. so they said they would find another one for me. then they turn around and send student via rental car to the driver that has his truck in the shop. knowing that i'm three hours away from this trainer, and the student they send him is like 9 hours away, and they know I've needed a trainer since last Wednesday. and I know of a few trainer that have come by me and they have not put me with them even though they know i'm here right at these guys. HOW THE HELL DO I GET OUT OF MY 8 MONTH CONTRACT. They make promises that they don't keep can that cancel a contract

You necroed an old thread that gave you the answer to your question already..?
Calm down, wait for a trainer. Make the best of it, and have a job lined up for the first day of your contract expiration.
YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
You have been with two trainers already. There is a pattern going on. You felt uncomfortable with the first trainer which is okay but when the 2nd trainer felt uncomfortable with you it was bs? Sounds like a double standard. Training isn't all peaches and cream. You deal with it and get it behind you. It's a short period of time and every time you jump around you prolong your training. I had a female trainer and the truck smelled like urine where she peed in a plastic cup, dumped it out and threw it behind the seat. Did I complain? No! I shampooed the carpet and vacuumed every chance I got. I dealt with it.
Just as you think they are not upholding their end of the bargain neither are you. Contracts aren't excusably broken because someone stinks. If you can't get thick skinned you won't survive in the industry.
Yes start your own thread instead of resurrecting old threads. The longer a thread the more bandwidth it hogs.
It sounds to me they are brushing you off until you quit.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
