Be cheaper to lay a brick on the gas pedal.
I used to do what @No germs did, but that was with an older truck.
How can I keep this #### truck runing (idling)

I had a lady driver tell me she used a lighter to briefly heat the tip of the temperature sensor. This worked until the tractor was shut off by her.
The trick is to locate and identify this elusive temp sensor thingy.
Good night and good luck.stylez80Nine and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
You’re not supposed to do that. You’re supposed to be more worried about saving the company money than getting any sleep.

My last tractor was a Prostar. Before that, I had a Volvo. That Volvo had an APU and all was well, most of the time. One day in Wyoming it was cold out, wind blowing horrible day. It was the day my APU gave up the ghost. I sure tried to sleep, but after about 2 hours sleep was not coming. Just so happened there was a flophouse close by. I was lucky enough to get in a room next to a nice young lady who was praying. I know this because she kept saying "oh God".

Take a stick roughly a foot and a half long. Put one end on the fuel pedal and wedge the other side somewhere where it will stay. You have to have the perfect length stick to just be able to have enough pressure on the fuel pedal to bump up the idle just above normal. I have a Volvo that shuts down after 3 minutes. It will idle perfectly now. But I only use it if I’m bobtailing. You can just release the tractor brakes if you are hooked to a trailer
