Well, if you would read the posts a little closer instead instantly attacking you would see our "crap" has come from reliable sources!

There's a post in the Truckers News forum where a driver just got arrested in NY for having a firearm in his truck and a GA permit. Ask him! :)

I almost went into this but left it alone as I didn't know the link. What I am referring to (and what I thought the original post was about) was transport of a concealed, loaded, firearm. The law above is very similar to the VA law that states you can carry in your car with the exception of the gun being loaded, and not having ammo that is readily availible.

IF carrying a gun is SOOOO ###### important to you drivers.

Go work for an armored car service. Or become an armed escort, bodyguard.

Otherwise, be mindful of your surrounding, don't get yourself into bad situations, and you might get to keep you job and even live through it.

No sir, I do not have "eveidence" of my statement. As I said, this was verbally expressed by several DOT officers as well as VA State trooper(s). This is obvioulsy a very gray erea so, the possibility that I am wrong is great! It is also extremely possible that incorrect information was given by the officers that taught our course.(CSA 2010) As for my friend, the Va Commonwealth Attorney, well, for the most part he handles domestic abuse cases. He couldn't accurately advise my sister during a divorce so...he too could be far off the mark on this one....
But hey, when one is told such things by sources that enforce the law for a living...one is apt to believe them, sometimes without question...just as I did.

I completely agree with this statement. Why are people so obsessed with guns? Even if a person is carrying one, in all probability they would never use it. And there are many legal things right there in a truck that could deter an intruder. Ever had a fire extinguisher sprayed in your face?

I have a gun in my house, but probably an intruder would be over me before I could even get to the gun. Frankly, if they outlawed every gun in the country, it would not bother me. A gun is made for one purpose, TO KILL! Read the book, "THE GIFT OF FEAR".

And from where did that statement derive??? D..O...T...Officers!
The longer I stay on this site the more and more I start to dislike it...seems to me there are A LOT of trolls that have nothing better to then argue! :biggrin_25513: Sad really! I wonder how many people do not post what that they would like to inquire about simply because they know the thread will turn into a pissing match within the first few comments. It's not hard to predict...pick any post on the board and you'll find someone on the prowl.

This post was originally about being able to carry firearms in a truck...now it's about who is right and who is wrong! Make sure that every letter that's typed is accurate down to the very sub-text of law, otherwise...the attack is on!

    Just curious.

Have you read the many other threads on this very subject?
