I'm sure eventually I can, but I can't just walk in there. It would be like me walking into yellow or crst.

Thanks, I may try and get their number next week and see if I can dig something up. I just don't want to do it while I'm at work.

I'll be the first to say I know very little about this. What I understand is: 1) You get on a long waiting list for an opportunity, 2) You purchase from an owner looking to get out.

Don't know if this is true, just what I've learned through hours of reading and lots of research.

There should be plenty of openings, seems like they turn one over every week.

I may have misunderstood. I thought you were talking about the "white glove" thing. It is the only thing I know of that sells.

I think you need a lot of research before you know what questions to ask. Maybe you are just having a hard time communicating your question.

If you plan to buy a truck with no driving experience and start as an owner/operator, why not just burn your money. Then as my friend NealinNevada said in another thread, find a bank borrow some from them and burn it. Then borrow from friends and family and burn that too.

Please save yourself some heartache and learn to drive. Then learn the industry from the driver's seat. Then if you still want, purchase a truck. This should increase your chance of success from 2% to 20%. If you're a good businessman, you might be pushing 50% with the proper experience. Driving, while more challenging than those who haven't done it believe, is only a small part of being an owner/operator and the easiest part. Unfortunately many have discovered driving, staying loaded and running miles does not insure success.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. What I offered in the last sentence above I learned the hard way. It cost everything I owned and my family. I have since redeemed myself with a success. I offer this so you can learn from my mistakes. Few admit this kind of thing they just quietly disappear. I talk about it because while I failed I was never defeated. It took 8 years to clean up the debt but I never gave up and found success the next time.

I know that FedEx Custom Critical is currently looking for owner operators for both straight trucks and tractor trailers. I was actually contacted by them this past Friday. I believe you need at least 1 year of experience to run a tractor trailer and I'm not sure about the straight trucks. I can give you the contact information if your interested.

Do you have a good reason or busting the guy's chops or was it just for your own enjoyment? If you can't help, why bother saying anything at all? Makes you look like an a s s my friend.
